Noorien Halari – Sacred Self Psychotherapy

Welcome to my psychotherapy practice. One of my goals as a psychotherapist is to make the transition into therapy comfortable and convenient. I understand that seeking therapy can be both comforting and daunting, but it can also be liberating and I commend individuals who reach out for help. Our pain can often be a message that there is something amiss in our lives, and I believe it is important that we listen to that message. Whether you are dealing with a difficult time in your life and need help managing the emotions and thoughts, I aim to assist individuals to better understand the relationship between their feelings and thoughts and explore ways to change maladaptive patterns. Often, it is not until we can communicate and hear ourselves speak of our struggles to another person that we can reflect and understand them better ourselves.

As an experienced and qualified psychotherapist and counsellor, I provide a relaxed and comfortable space where you can talk in confidence about issues that may be worrying you. My experience includes working with people with post-traumatic stress disorder, OCD, abuse, personality disorders, early childhood trauma, emotional, social, behavioural and developmental difficulties, depression, anxiety, anger, loneliness, guilt, work-related stress and relationship difficulties.

At the heart of my practice however, I believe that the strength of individual therapy relies on the quality of the therapeutic relationship. I encourage open curiosity, exploration and to reflect on meaning attributed to feelings, thoughts and experience and how this impacts one’s relationship with themselves, others and the world they inhabit. Through self-awareness and exploration in the “here and now” of the therapeutic relationship, the person can find or become aware of different ways of relating, allowing them to be confident in their choices and decision making.

I utilize evidence-based behavioral interventions to help break habitual and often self-sabotaging tendencies, as well as to accept, and work with – not against – our own difficulties.
